Cleaning your home up for christmas

Christmas is almost here so its time to de-clutter and get our cleaning supplies out!
Now is a great time to do a little winter clean up in readiness for the festivities and all those extra visitors. With christmas comes presents which take up extra space - especially if you have children. De-cluttering and having your home look its best will take a lot of the stress associated with the time of year away.
Step 1 - What to clean
Deceide what needs to be done - take a good look around your home particularly your entertaining spaces and see if there are any items that can be removed either for good or just to make space for deecorations and visitors over christmas.
Can any of your childrens toys be put away in the shed or the garage for the period - this is a great way to make space and present your home in its best light.
Make a list of what you want to achieve - this may include the following;
- Wash/dry clean the curtains
- Shampoo the carpets
- Clean the sofa
- Recycle/put away clutter
- Re-arrange furniture
- Clean the windows
- Intensive hoovering including hand tools to the edges of rooms
- Wipe down the skirting boards and doors/frames
- Check the fire alarms
- Empty and clean the kitchen cupboards
- Clear out your storage areas
Work out what you want to do first and enlist the help of the rest of the family, this will get the jobs done much quicker and encourage everyone to keep everywhere tidy.
Step 2 - Which Cleaning supplies to use
Once you have de-cluttered and identified the cleaning jobs which need carrying out you will need to make sure you have the right cleaning products in your cleaning supplies cupboard.
